Initially released on 6th December 2018, Epic Games, a platform known for its huge success in a short period of time which made it a leading gaming platform and a website as well as an online video games store.
Epic Games has a controversial synonym, Fortnite.
Fortnite is considered to be a controversial game for multiple reasons, such as being a PUBG copy, addictive style of play (games going up to 20 minutes each), and its age rating of 12+ which has an inappropriate mixture of age range.
Fortnite being the most successful game that Epic Games came up with, it is considered to be one of the most popular games right now. Gamers and Youtubers in addition to streamers have all succeeded and boomed thanks to this particular game, which promotes competition and challenges.
The successful strategies adopted by Epic Games are so unique. This latter is known for 3 cunning strategies that propelled the company to this huge success in terms of internet notoriety and content quality.
1. Fortnite Skins:
Fortnite is known for its way of earning money since the game itself is a free to play game, epic games earns its money from microtransactions. That includes buying in-game money (V-Bucks) with real money (Dollar, Euro... you get the point). Not only that but the skins play a huge role in this lucrative success. Skins are an important element for Fortnite gamers, it raises the bar for gamers to compete as to who is, somewhat, the richest player, similar to a privilege.
Marvel is known for taking part in this skin rollercoaster with some characters of the Marvel superhero roster included in the game.
It's all fun and games until Epic Games decides to desecrate the glorious Kratos from God of War (A PlayStation exclusive video game).
Well... who am I to decide I'll cringe by myself...
2. Free Games:
Epic games releases a free game daily / weekly depending on the occasion.
When you hear the notion of a free game, you get an idea that suggests a terrible game, but the fact suggests the opposite, with Epic Games, you often get AAA (Triple A) games (that represent the blockbusters of the gaming industry) such as Hitman (2018), Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Batman series, Kingdom Come Deliverance, For Honor, Alan Wake, Watch Dogs...
Hell even GTA V or The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt!

3. Unreal Engine:
Unreal Engine is home of creativity within gamers and game developers. Initially released by the founder of Epic Games, Tim Sweeney. The first generation of UE released in 1998 used in the old Harry Potter games and the first Deus Ex for example. The second generation, Unreal Engine 2 released in 2002 with games such as America's Army and Killing Floor (2009). UE 2 is mostly used for older generation of consoles such as the original Xbox and PS2 or earlier.
Then came the 3rd generation of Unreal Engine, which released in 2006 with games that targeted the newer generation of consoles, Xbox 360 and PS3. Some notable games like Borderlands and the magnificent Batman Arkham series notably Arkham City and the Fable series...
With the release of Unreal Engine 4, the gaming potential in terms of graphics and performance made a huge leap. This engine targets the newer generation of consoles at that time, more precisely PS4 and Xbox One. Some brilliant games like Days Gone, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot and Fighterz, Gears 4 and 5, and the popular Fortnite.
It didn't end here, and it probably wouldn't. With the release of the latest consoles, PS5 and Xbox Series X, these latter have provided new frontiers in terms of performance and quality, thus came Unreal Engine 5 to provide just that.
I'll let this video speak for itself, for a better analysis from the dev team, running on PS5.
Stay innovative!
